Help by Volunteering: Triangle Inner City Outings (ICO) needs volunteers to lead outings, manage the budget, handle public relations, run fund raisers, maintain the database of volunteers and handle other administrative tasks. Contact our volunteer coordinator for details of volunteer opportunities.

To volunteer on a trip, you must fill out the Volunteer Application, the Code of Ethics and the Volunteer Agreement. Download the forms here and mail directly to the address below:

After a few months of participating on several outings with ICO, volunteers interested in making more of a commitment and becoming a Certified Leader must have a current Sierra Club membership and First Aid certification and complete the following 3 forms:

1) Leader Application Form
2) Code of Ethics Form
3) Volunteer Agreement Form

Mail all three completed forms as well as a copy of your driver's license to the Triangle Sierra Club ICO (address above).

Help by Donating Funds: To make a tax-deductible donation to the Triangle Chapter of Inner City Outings, make your check payable to "The Sierra Club Foundation" and specify Triangle Inner City Outings in the comment section. Mail your check to the Triangle Sierra Club ICO (address above).

Help by Donating Equipment: To donate used or new equipment (backpacks, tents, etc.) for ICO outings, please contact the ICO Chair with specific information about the items to be donated. If the items are needed, the Chair will indicate where to deliver the items or will arrange for pickup.

Qualified donations are tax deductible. To receive a letter from the Sierra Club Foundation for tax purposes, send a letter to The Sierra Club Foundation (TSCF) (address below) notifying the Foundation of the specific items to be donated.

Also, email a copy of this letter to the Triangle ICO Chair.

The Triangle ICO Chairperson will fill out a Sierra Club In Kind Donation form and send it to TSCF for approval. Upon approval, TSCF will issue an acknowledgement letter to the donor.
