Hickory Creek Trail, Cohutta Wilderness
Moderate, gently sloping trail for about 3 miles to campsite along the Conasauga River, taking about 90 minutes. Return trip is uphill and about 2 hours. Directions to the western trailhead: I-75 North just past Cartersville to Hwy. 411. Take Hwy. 411 North through Chatsworth. From the GA 52-US 411 intersection in Chatsworth, travel approximately 7.3 miles on US 411 North. Then turn right onto Grassy Street a short distance past the Crandall Post Office. Continue over the railroad tracks before turning right again. After this second right turn, proceed 0.1 mile, then turn left on FS 630 (Mill Creek Road) toward Lake Conasauga Recreation Area. Stay on FS 630 (it becomes gravel) for approximately 9.0 miles to the FS 630-FS 17 intersection. Continue straight through this intersection on FS 630; the Hickory Creek Trail parking area is 0.3 mile ahead.
