OUTING HIGHLIGHTS:

The museum of Industry was offering free admission to students/teachers that day, so we stopped by for a tour.  The museum offered exhibits/films on the history of local industries (printing, railroad, machinery) that was pretty interesting.  From there we headed up to the Charles Theatre to watch Super Size Me, which is a documentary about a man who ate McDonald’s for a month and the effects on his body.  The movie also covered a lot of nutritional/health related topics.  This was a very relevant film for our kids, who eat out for a lot of their meals.  For lunch we had crepes at the Crepes stand next to the theater.  Most of the kids had never had crepes so that was a fun experience.

OUTING HIGHLIGHTS:

The youngsters liked the short hayride at the beginning.  They enjoyed feeding the animals and riding the pony.  They also enjoyed playing games in the grass after lunch.

OUTING SUGGESTIONS:

The tour was short, and the guide did not tell the kids enough about the animals they say. It might help next time to ask Mr. Clark, the owner of the farm, if the guide can take time to explain more about the farm and its animals.  The volunteers could also step in and tell the kids about the animals and the different products we get from them.
